Mantorville is a small town located in southeast Minnesota and is mainly known for historical significance. Along with other towns around the United States, Mantorville is listed in the National registry of Historical Places. Its origins date back in 1854 when the area was explored and people settled there.

But what makes Mantorville special today? First of all, the city is as relaxed and simple as it used to be. It preserves the beauty and quietness of the past and visitors can enjoy a great holyday trip if going there. There are numerous antique and gift shops which make the atmosphere of the town even more interesting for tourists.

Of course, the economic development has reached Mantorville too. Not everything stays in the past, one might easily say, but what the local authorities are trying to do is preserve as much as possible the spirit of the place. The Economic Development Authority administrates the city affairs so that new residences are build every year, playgrounds and parks are maintained in a perfect state of function and most of all, people safely go along with their businesses and their lives. There are also other community groups that ensure the well going of activity in Mantorville, such as the Dodge County Historical Society, the Chamber of Commerce or Mantorville Theatre Company. The later is mostly known for sustaining the melodrama performance in the Opera House, a tradition that dates since the beginning of the 20th century.

The historical background of the city also led to the settling of some events that make the atmosphere in Mantorville even more welcoming. Old Time Days (held in June), Marigold Days (September), Zumbo River Rendezvous (September) Old Fashioned Christmas are some of those traditional events that contribute to the uniqueness of Mantorville and which, together with other characteristics of the place, make it special and worth visiting.
