Your kitchen gets used every day. Without maintaining small messes, you can have a big cleaning job every day. This next set of tips will help you keep your kitchen clean and manageable. The first thing you should do to clean your kitchen is to wash your dishes. Washing dishes can really be overwhelming. Here are some tips to make this grueling task a bit easier.

Invest in a scrubber that you can put soap in the handle. This way you can wash as you go, eliminating huge piles of dirty dishes. Soak all dishes that have dried on food. This lets you use less elbow grease. Wash in groups silverware, glasses, bowls, plates, pots and pans.

After your dishes are washed then you can start cleaning your sink. Personally I find that cleaning the sink is the most difficult part of cleaning the kitchen. Both the sink and the faucets get dirty very fast and they are hard to clean especially if they get greasy.

For a perfectly clean sink you can follow the following method. If you have a double sink clean each side separately. Start by running some really hot water into one side of the sink. Fill your sink with hot water to the rim. Then, pour a cup of household bleach into the hot water and let it sit for 1 hour. Now, pull the plug without placing your hand in the sink. You can use a pair of tongs.

Or if don't have tongs, then scoop some of the water out of the sink into the other sink wear a glove and use your hand to pull the plug. Rinse your sink well with water and then use a cleaner. You can use any cleanser like Comet, Ajax, or even your own home made cleaner and scrub your sink and faucets. After the scrub rinse all the cleaner.

An additional step in this process would be to use car wax to make the sink really shine. In order to avoid stains every time you run water in your sink, take your clean dishtowel and dry it out. Now if you have a stainless steel sink, after you soak your sink and rinse well you can use steel wool pads (SOS pads) to scrub it and make it look like new.

After the dishes are done and put away, don't forget the wipe-down. This makes your kitchen have that extra clean look. When you're wiping down, don't forget to wipe your counter tops, the stove, the sink, your faucet, cupboard doors, the kitchen table and chairs.

After everything is done you can proceed by cleaning your microwave and your stove. Here's a good shortcut to cleaning your microwave: Fill up a cup of water and put it in there on high for a few minutes. The steam from the cup will loosen any stuck-on food, and then you can just wipe it away.

Ovens may be continuous clean or self-cleaning. No matter what the case is both types need cleaning. With both types of ovens you need maintain the interior clean. Self cleaning technology somewhat helps. However, nothing will help when you get big spills and splatters in your oven.

To save on cleanup time when you know you are cooking, cover the bottom of the oven or pan with aluminum foil. Do not let the foil touch the heating element and it also helps to use a aluminum lined cookie sheet underneath the rack or the dish you are cooking with.

To clean your oven you can get a cold-process oven cleaner, or one that needs the oven preheated first to kick off the process. Some work in a few hours, some need overnight to work. In all cases follow the instructions carefully and always use gloves.

Every kitchen is the heart of a home. Keeping your kitchen clean will help you keep your family members healthy as well as inspire you to proceed cleaning the rest of your home.
