Don't Panic Over Last Minute Gifts

For those last minute Christmas shoppers who are fast running out of ideas, take a look at the latest in product design for those last minute genuine ideas that your loved ones will enjoy for a long time to come.

First we have the boys toys. The inventive minds behind today's product design brings a giant remote controlled tank which is an exact replica of a king Tiger, a World War Two German weapon. With a working turret, two foot long gun and capable of pulling a real life car, this is one 'toy' that will have all the boys eager.

Speakers fitted inside the tank emit the rumbling noise normally associated with a tank approaching and the whole thing is powered by two 500 watt 24 volt motors. If you get one of these little babies for the man in your life, you'll succeed in keeping him quiet for hours.

For the music lovers out there, a wide choice of product designs are available that will tune into the right sounds. We have a beanie hat that plays selected sounds through it as well as a pillow that you can plug your ipod into and drift off to your favourite sounds. Sunglasses that also double up as an mP3 player are pretty inventive and look cool as well as being practical.

But what if music is not for your loved one? Maybe they border on the label of computer geek so then what can you buy them? USB gadgets are fun and becoming increasingly popular. Of course, there are the totally useless but fun items such as the USB chameleon or the USB owl, neither of these do much more than sit and look pretty.

However, there is the cool little USB eco button. This attaches to your computer via a USB connection and if the computer is left idle for a length of time, it will automatically shut down the power after saving any work. This means that your power usage is cut down but it's also very good for the environment.

If your loved one is more into visual stimuli, product design sees the release of an amazing new light show that can fill an entire warehouse of a simple room with the most effective galactic display seen to date. With added extras such as misty blue nebulae and shooting stars, this gadget offers the most impressive display of stars that actually look three dimensional due to the differing brightness of the stars.

So how about something special for the woman in your life? How about something that she wouldn't have thought of herself or something original that her family are less likely to get?

Well, in true Scrooge fashion, many people are having to work right up to the last moment of Christmas Eve so why not try and bring a little Christmas cheer to her office and buy her some USB Christmas lights. A little string of fairy lights that run off her computer is bound to get her in the Christmas mood before she comes home.

While I would never condone buying Christmas gifts that are in the realms of 'food blenders' or any other such domesticated stuff, sometimes it's nice to have practical gifts but with that little edge. Take, for example, the pink tool kit. Especially for the woman in your life, you can give her an unusual gift that will be practical whilst recognising her independence and strength (as well as getting yourself out of a few DIY jobs!)

So we can clearly see that, with a little thought, there are lots of products designed with gift giving in mind that are unique and special without being mega expensive.
