Cameras really have come a long way since the old timers and now they have all sorts of features such as digital, black and white, direct link, zoom, image stabilizers, etc. Recently I got a really nice Canon for work and I absolutely love it. You would think these cameras would be super expensive, but really if you know where to look and what brands to look for; you can easily buy a brand new camera for under $500. You really can't go wrong with cameras, everyone loves them and they are very usable for all sorts of reasons; professional or otherwise. Depending on which camera you get you will be offered different options. A few of the latest innovative cameras have been listed below!
Canon PowerShot A590IS 8MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom -
This is one of the cheapest cameras you can buy on the market right now but it still has a very high quality considering it is a Canon. This would be a good gift for someone that likes photography or wants to get into photography because it's a digital but there aren't a lot of confusing buttons to push! This camera is particular has 8.0 mega-pixels and a 4x zoom along with a 2.5 LCD screen! They also put automatic and manual on here along with "easy mode", enhanced face recognition and motion detection technology. Of course they also integrated the same awesome special affects that all the other cams have as well such as; ISO Sensitivity - Auto, High ISO Auto, ISO 80/100/200/400/800/1600 equivalent Built-in ElectronicFlash - Auto, Red-eye Reduction, Auto Red-eye Correction, Flash On, Flash Off; FE lock, Slow Synchro Flash Range - 12 in.-11 ft./30cm-3.5m (W), 12 in.-7.2 ft./30cm-2.2m (T) (when sensitivity is set to ISO Auto) Shooting Modes - Auto, Easy, Camera M, Portrait, Landscape, Special Scene (Foliage, Snow, Beach, Sunset, Fireworks, Night Scene, Aquarium), Indoor, Kids & Pets, & Night Snapshot! Shooting Capacity for Still Image - approx. 220 shots (AA-size Alkaline Battery), approx. 500 shots (AA-size Ni-MH Battery); Playback Time - Approx. 540 min. (AA-size Alkaline Battery), approx. 660 min. (AA-size Ni-MH Battery). This is an awesome camera at a terrific price and anyone would be happy if you bought it for them; young or old!
Sony Cybershot DSCW120/B 7.2MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot -
These cameras are also digital as well but, they are more for the type of person that likes to just point and shoot rather than fiddle around with a bunch of buttons! This is perfect for people that like to take a lot of family photos, activity photos, or a person that goes to a lot of special occasion parties. Also, I knew someone that actually had a wedding and bought one of these for EACH table so that the guests at the party could just take pictures of whatever they wanted to and then the grooms family would develop all the photos. It was actually pretty cool because although other people have tried this with "throw away" cameras; the pictures never show up right and then it's just a disappointing situation! The 7.2-Mega-pixel Cyber-shot (R) W120 features innovative Smile Shutter technology, which photographs smiles as they happen. A Carl Zeiss 4x optical zoom lens provides high quality close-ups, while Sony's Double Anti-Blur solution gives you crisp, clear images. The advanced Sony Super HAD (TM) (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise. Auto focus, "themes", image stabilizer and 16FPS makes this camera fun to play with but easy to use!
Nikon Coolpix L18 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom -
Yet another top rated camera that is really affordable and another camera that can be added to the "easy to use" list. This camera features all sorts of fun little additions that make it unique yet completely functional! 8.0 Mega-pixels for stunning prints as large as 16 x 20 inches3x optical Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens gets you close to the action. Anti-Shake Mode minimizes the effect of camera shake. Huge, bright high resolution 3.0-inch LCD makes it easy to view and share pictures. Adjusts up to ISO 1600 to keep shooting even in lower light. In-Camera Red-Eye FixFace-Priority AFD-lighting.
Also remember that most all cameras; professional or otherwise, come with software that will allow you to upload the photos to your computer or if you have a laptop you can place the memcard right into the slot which makes things SO much easier. Most computers nowadays have the memory card slot and ALL cameras have memory cards. Most likely if you buy a camera you will need a memory card but some cameras do have a very small capacity hard drive in the camera that will allow you to take a few pics but that's it. For my Canon that I bought it was recommended by the directions that I buy a 2gig card but, I personally found that it made the camera really slow. So if need be, make sure you check out reviews on different memory card brands and sizes beforehand. Also, there really is no need to buy more than three memory cards because they are reusable!
