There are millions of people each day who think to themselves "I want a fast way to lose weight." The problem is that the solution they are looking for seems to be EVERYWHERE. Every magazine cover at the supermarket seems to have a new "scientific breakthrough" for fast fat loss that promises to help them lose all the weight they want to with little effort. There are countless diets and workout programs that all have some magical fast way to lose weight.

While some of these may have quality information, the one thing that will always help you lose weight fast is having a solid nutrition program. You can exercise all you want to, but there is an old saying that states "you cannot out train a bad diet". It is certainly common knowledge that you need to eat right to lose weight fast, but it always helps to be reminded that this is where you should START. If you change your diet around so that you are eating the right foods at the right times and you can do it consistently, then you pretty much have the weight loss game won.

This article is going to focus on some of those important nutrition principles that you need to start doing as soon as possible. The days of doing "1 meal per day" to lose weight are over. Forget about starving yourself through sheer will power. Its time you see that the fast way to lose weight comes from eating the right kinds of food more often and in the right portion sizes.

Base all your meals around protein

Protein is sort of a "magic" food for weight loss. It helps you feel full for a longer period of time, it helps to maintain (and build) lean muscle mass, and it requires extra energy for your body to digest it. Instead of always "winging it" each meal, try thinking "what kind of protein should I start this meal with?" Some good examples are protein shakes, tuna, chicken, turkey, etc.

Fruits and vegetables are your friends

These are the ultimate foods for getting a lot of nutritional value for not a lot of calories. The best thing about fruits and vegetables is that you can eat a huge volume of them and still not get as many calories as you would with food that is heavily processed. This is how a lot of people say they lose more weight while eating more food. Fruits and vegetables will help you to lose weight faster than any kind of "starvation" diet.

Not all fats are bad for you

It is not a good idea to cut all fat out of your diet when you start a weight loss plan. In fact, some foods such as salmon and grass fed beef have healthy fats that are good for you in more ways than one. These foods have healthy fats as well as protein, so they are a great addition to any fat loss diet.

Like we talked about, having a good nutrition plan is the MOST important aspect of weight loss. You could eat 600 calories per day of nothing but candy bars and lose weight, but that does not make it healthy. Eating 5-6 smaller meals each day of protein, fruits, fiber, and vegetables is a much healthier and faster way of eating for weight loss.

The best thing you can do in addition to eating right is to have a "weight loss partner". This could be a friend, spouse, family member, etc. who is looking to achieve a similar weight loss goal. You can plan meals together, go to the store together, and show each other your food logs. As long as you stay consistent and have someone to be accountable to, you will find yourself making more progress with less effort. This is where the fast fat loss "magic" happens!
