Listed here are some genuinely good tips and hints for you if you want to work at home as a self-employed person, or want to know what its all about. Ill also be including some Freelancing sites i roam around on! Being a freelancer is one of the coolest things Ive done so far online. Freelancing is a job you do on your own, sort of like running a business. You handle everything, and even make your own dockets and pay amounts. As a freelancer you provide services like web design, web development, marketing, optimizations etc and then people hire you and pay you for it. Most people are more than happy to pay you the price you ask for. Others would rather "make a deal." Money is money, especially when your doing this for a living, so if you absolutely have to make a deal, make sure its fair for you. After all they are offering to hire you on, but its your service. I do this as a freelancing/business and I absolutely love it!

Some of my favorite sites of all time are listed below, along with a few words about the sites or experience Ive had with them.

GetAFreelancer - This site is pretty nifty, its sort of like eBay, where you find people that need services and you make bids. If your the winner, then you go on to discuss the service further. Ive had one bad thing happen to me on this site and that was just the luck of the draw. Just one person out of thousands that happened to pick me as their target lol. But I have gotten many other jobs on here that started and ended well. Also the customer service is really nice and try to make you as happy as they can if you were unhappy with something on the site or someone you dealt with.

Craigslist - Of course everyone knows what craigslist is! You can find a whole bunch of different jobs on this site. But I do have to say, for those of you that do web design and development you have a better chance at getting a job, than any of u s other service providers. It seems like that's all i ever see on CL is those kinds of jobs. But still it doesn't look to hurt. Ive met a few really nice people on CL that are very honest and sincere.

Scriptlance - SL is another site like GetAFreelancer, except Ive never had one problem from any of the people on this site. They are all pretty legit. This is a site I highly recommend for anyone offering ANY service. Plus when you sign up you are given the chance to receive emails when NEW jobs are available. Its one email usually every 1-3 days and it includes anywhere from 10-25 jobs in categories you picked out. So if you picked web design, but not data entry, then you will only get web design projects that have been opened. You also receive other little options like if you bid on a job and it ends, you will receive an email from SL letting you know, and also letting you know if they picked anyone for that specific job. Ive gotten a few dozen jobs off this site, so again its highly recommended by me!

Forums - Forums are a spectacular place to look for jobs online, especially freelance jobs. A lot of sites have a service section where YOU can post the service you offer and include any prices, your website, experience etc. And people will either PM you or reply to the thread directly. pretty cool. I recommend checking out my favorite forum NamePros. Lots of nice people and a very legit forum. Of course there's some people on every site that are a little, can I say, shady? But that's anywhere in life, on or offline. Just choose wisely.

So those are the main places I use online when I'm trying to find people to offer my service to. I'm sure there's more as well, but again these are sites and techniques Ive found to be tried and true! Just try to be as honest with your service and offer a fair price. If person A offers the same service as you but their price is $10 cheaper you can bet hes going to get MORE customers. Its just the way it works! Unless of course you totally kick butt with your service, then you can charge more, but in the beginning this usually isn't how this works!
