The modern kitchen is more equipped with accessories and equipment than ever before. The range of kitchen accessories on offer is wide and diverse, many do not even concern cooking anymore; as the functions of our kitchens change, the accessories we place inside them are also changing. Accessories can include even the appliances installed in your kitchen. This collection of labour saving devices has been encroaching on the way we use our kitchens for the last twenty years. If you told a cook a few generations ago that they would not have to wash up and they would have a machine to do this for them, they would certainly be surprised. The microwave has also been an important innovation that has made cooking much easier; invented by accident as a scientist involved in testing microwaves melted a chocolate bar in his pocket; it is astonishing that this device has become a staple of our kitchen lives.
As the functions that are kitchen performs change, the accessories are adapting to suit modern attitudes.
