When it comes to purchasing a scooter, one needs to consider both the technical features and several purchasing criteria of the bike. Since technical features are complicated, first look at some important buying criteria of the vehicl.

The first buying criteria is convenience. How convenient to bring the scooter on the street regularly. The second criterion is how fast the scooter moves. And, the third is how comfortable the bike is to ride.

Now, let's discuss the technical features of a scooter. The main features of a scooter are

• Wheel size
• Deck size
• Deck height
• Folding mechanism
• Suspension
• Handbrakes
• Other attachments
• Overall construction quality

Let's discuss some of these features briefly.

Wheel size

Wheels and wheel sizes are quite important for scooters. A pair of good-quality wheels are made of wear-resistant plastic. They(wheels) also need to grip the road firmly and should have rebound ability that is if deformed can return to the original shape. There are small and large scooter wheels. Both types have advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of large wheels

• Long glide distance with each push

• High shock absorption
• Safely roll over large objects like stones

• Compatible with large deck

• Difficult to carry

• Riding through a crowded place is a big challenge.

• Less maneuverability
• Requires more effort and energy to speed up and slow down

Advantage of small wheels
• Light and easy to carry
• Easier to increase speed and slow down.

• Travel short distance with each glide
• Low efficiency
• Higher chances of wheels being stuck in a small crack or objects.

Deck size
The relation between deck size and wheel is the deck size is straightly proportional to wheel size. That is, the larger the wheel size, the bigger the deck size. The advantage of large deck size is snowboarders easily get on and off the board easily. Another advantage of the large deck is, it is comfortable to ride on a large deck. The downside of the large deck is the component that makes the scooter heavy and requires applying much effort to speed the snowboard.

Deck height

Deck height is the gap between the deck and the ground. There is a relation between the deck height and a comfortable scooter riding. The lower the deck height, the more comfortable the riding is.
