Sure, this age limit was already being enforced in some places, but this more formal announcement makes it a nation-wide law. With the FDA's changes, the federal law that already forbids tobacco sales to people under 18 will now apply to vaping as well. -text c-gray-1" >As the debate over the health risks of e-cigarettes rages on, the FDA is stepping in to "improve public health and protect future generations." To do that, the US government will regulate e-cigs and vaping gear like it does any other tobacco product. Until now, these products haven't been subject to government oversight.

Retailers will be required to ask for identification from any customer who appears to be under the age of 27 and are prohibited from providing free samples to minors. Today, those changes go into effect. -text c-gray-1" >In May, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced plans to regulate e-cigarettes like it does regular tobacco products. First, the new regulations make it illegal to sell e-cigarettes and other vaping supplies to anyone under the age of 18. As we reported when the FDA first revealed its plans, the age limit was already being enforced in some places, but now it's the rule nationwide.

It's also a way for the government to keep tabs on vaping products that are popular among teens. "This final rule is a foundational step that enables the FDA to regulate products young people were using at alarming rates, like e-cigarettes, cigars and hookah tobacco, that had gone largely unregulated," Mitch Zeller from the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products, explained back in May. The FDA cites consumer protection at the reason for the new regulations as the debate over health concerns surrounding cigarettes rages on.

Companies will also be required to disclose ingredients, including any harmful or potentially harmful substances, and they'll have to get approval before putting new tobacco products on the market. What's more, vaping products will be subject to the same regulations in terms of packaging and production. Manufacturers will have to register with the FDA and provide a list of products to the agency. In terms of packaging and advertising, e-cigarette and vaping products must also feature a health warning label -- just like the brands selling regular cigarettes.

"This final rule is a foundational step that enables the FDA to regulate products young people were using at alarming rates, like e-cigarettes, cigars and hookah tobacco, that had gone largely unregulated," Mitch Zeller, who leads the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products, said in a press release.

"The bad news is that August 8th of this year marks the beginning of a two-year countdown to FDA prohibition of 99.9 percent plus of vapor products on the market," American Vaping Association president Gregory Conley posted on the organization's website late last week. "If we do not succeed in changing the FDA's arbitrary predicate date of February 15, 2007, the vapor industry will shrink to almost nothing beginning August 8, 2018."

This week, an EU court upheld new regulations that banned advertising of the newfangled tobacco products. The US isn't the only country clamping down on how e-cigarettes are regulated. What's more, the EU's Tobacco Products Directive will oversee e-cigarettes for its members from now on.

Just 13.6 percent actually buy their pods at a physical store. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is acutely aware of this teenage reality -- these statistics are laid out in Health Code ordinance No. The ban will last until the US Food there's no algorithm blocking websites from adding the city to its shipments. 190312, which prohibits the sale of e-cigarettes in San Francisco, in person and online. Just a threat of penalties if someone complains. The ordinance's authors are specifically concerned with curtailing e-cigarette use among the youth population, noting that the number of teenagers who had tried vaping at least once rose by 1.5 million from 2017 to 2018. -text c-gray-1" >Nearly 90 percent of all San Francisco high school students who vape get their fix by shopping online or through friends.

I never was lucky enough to have one, but I recognized them instantly when I saw one pumping out Corey Hart's Never Surrender in Eleven's bedroom. (And admire this Etsy version in pin form.) They played both cassette tapes and AM/FM radio -- what more could you want? Watch the whole season carefully, the pastel boombox shows up multiple times. Sharp QT-50 pastel boombox
Not all boomboxes were the big honking ones derogatorily nicknamed "ghetto blasters." There was also a wonderfully pastel-colored line of Sharp QT-50 round-edged mini boomboxes issued in pastel tones that looked like nothing more than bowls of delicious sorbet.

Pool-mom fashion
A trailer released back in May delivers a tasty slice of 1980s fashion trends, courtesy of the Hawkins moms who are lusting after Billy as he lifeguards at the local pool. Billy even compliments Karen's two-tone, split-down-the-middle swimsuit, and honestly, I'd wear that today. Watch carefully when the camera pans down Mom Row -- each of the ladies has similar jewelry. Karen's also wearing that thick layered eyeshadow we all loved (I was a pro at the pink-purple-edged-with-blue look) and the chunky bright beads and earrings that were as popular as Madonna. And every second of it is jammed with retro goodness, from the Stray Cats' Rock This Town playing in the background to the New Coke that Karen Wheeler is sipping (carefully, with a straw, to avoid smearing her lipstick).
