I suppose individuals enhance their opportunities to undertake good work when they find the time and take the chance to reflect on their personal and professional experiences as well as to formulate their mission and to find out whether they are moving towards their goals. I have to be in a position to focus, reflect, and figure out the nature of my work with regard to my role of an ethical leader in order to develop innovative projects while resolving work issues.
Another approach to staying on the ethical path as a leader is to go through regular check-ups. These examinations take place when I have experiences that lead me to evaluate my conduct and ask myself what I do in order to establish a better example for those who work with me. People listen without a doubt to whatever their leaders say, and they watch whatever their colleagues and leaders do even more closely. Therefore, they feel extremely pressured to imitate good or bad behavior they perceive in their leaders. Nevertheless, leaders who display ethical behavior, particularly despite any temptations, motivate employees to do the same, hence emerging victorious in the end. The difference between ethics and effectiveness is always minor. In some instances, being effective means being ethical and sometimes being ethical means being effective. In essence, ethics means effectiveness in some cases.
There are situations when it is enough to term the leader trustworthy and ethical to make him or her effective, while sometimes great effectiveness makes the leader ethical. Gardner provides a sequence of articulate and exciting exhortations on the significance of a caring, an approachable, and empowering leader who works for the good of others and the organization. He believes that we ought to maintain high principles that are not simply entrenched in laws, which demands from us integrity, honor, caring for others, mutual respect, acceptance, and their realization within the outline of these principles. Therefore, to ensure my role as an ethical leader, I should set objectives by all means, take charge of internally divided groups, be in a position to identify overarching objectives that bring together employees or constituents, and conserve my energies.
