Ask any Englishman and they will swear by their cup of tea. Indeed, tea is a fascinating beverage and comes with a range of health benefits. Native to Asia, the origin of tea is believed to be in Southwest China and it is the second most popular beverage in the world after coffee. Tea can be had in many flavours and all of them do good to your body. Teas like turmeric tea and jasmine pearls make your mornings feel extra special.

The best part of tea is that you can have it in many forms. Some prefer tea with only hot water and some don’t mind a dash of milk and sugar in it. Some people even prefer a pinch of lemon juice in their black tea. Then there is also the concept of herbal tea where extracts of leaves, flowers and fruits and other plant forms are mixed with tea to give it flavour and added health benefits. No matter what your choice in tea is, you can rest assured it will prep you up in a jiffy.

Turmeric is one of the most beneficial natural products in the world. India, where it is consumed every day in curries, has the lowest rate of Alzheimer’s disease in the world. This is not a coincidence because it has been proven that turmeric does help in this regard. The natural ingredients in turmeric stop the accumulation of beta-amyloid, a substance that causes Alzheimer’s disease. Turmeric is also known to have anti-cancer properties.

Turmeric tea brings you the benefits of turmeric and more. Originated in India, this tea contains, apart from black tea and turmeric, aniseed, black pepper, cardamom, chilli, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. You know that all these products have their own health benefits. This tea is available as loose leaf.

To prepare this tea, you need to heat 250 ml of water to 96°C and steep the tea in it for 3 minutes. Now all you need to do is pour the tea in your cup and enjoy the sips.

Jasmine pearls tea, on the other hand, comes to you from China. It is a mix of premium grade green tea and jasmine blossoms. Pearls of this mix are handcrafted in the Fujian Province of China and it is one of the most aromatic types of tea you will ever have.

Making this tea is also simple – heat 250 ml of water to 85°C and steep the tea pearls in it for 2 minutes. The tea pearls open when put in the hot water to reveal a heavenly jasmine aroma. When you sip this tea, you get the wonderful flavour of tea mixed with a jasmine fragrance.

There are those who can make these teas at home. In fact, you can do the same if you have the ingredients with you. But it is not required because you get cans and pouches of these teas. All you need to do is make your tea and feel wowed every time you take a sip.
