Almost everyone these days want to pursue further studies from a good university abroad. It is a known fact that university fees are extremely high, going by the demand of the current times. However, getting a post-graduate scholarship from abroad secures your future, opening up a world of opportunities both in your home country and the country that you pursue your degree from. As the financial strain for studying abroad is quite huge, it is difficult for students coming from low income backgrounds to bear. Thus, postgraduate scholarships have made it easier for students to achieve their dreams.
Here is some information that may help you, regarding procedure and terms of scholarships-

• Indian universities today are at par with most of the universities abroad. Thus, a number of students prefer to pursue their post-graduation course in the country itself. There are scholarship for post-graduate students in India that enable them to study a degree that they like but cannot afford. This kind of a scholarship for post-graduate students in India is meant for a student who is a citizen of the country only.

• Although most universities abroad have a one year degree when it comes to post-graduate studies. There are other universities, in many countries in Europe particularly that also offer a two-year post-graduate degree program. These universities often times offer a partial PG scholarship. Thus, generally the scholarship covers one year of the degree only, while the next year you have to arrange for your own funding. This means the hassle of arranging financial assistance from elsewhere.

• Sorting your PG scholarship also implies that you do not have to face the problem of additional living expenses. Some postgraduate scholarships offer full funding, that is, not only do they take care of the educational expense, but also give an additional allowance per month so that you can pay your hostel rent as well as have money for food and lodging.

These days, it is not only foreign universities who are offering scholarships, but also many premier Indian institutes like IIT’s and IIM’s who offer a scholarship for postgraduate students in India. Pursuing a degree from a good university whether from abroad or in India is no longer a distant wish like it was for many students a few decades back. It is very much a palpable dream that is within everyone’s reach. You just need to do a thorough research of all the university programs, keep a track of the deadlines and get your documents ready as soon as possible.

But be careful, do not send your scholarship documents in haste, a badly presented scholarship application can significantly reduce your chances of acquiring a scholarship in spite of your merit and all round achievement.
