There are various types of seafood and shrimp is the most popular of all the options available. There are various shrimp recipes and even those who do not prefer fish will enjoy this delicacy. This dish has a mild flavor therefore it is easy to combine it with various ingredients. It is also a good choice for those who are trying to lose some weight because its fat content is low.

Most shrimp recipes require you to butterfly the seafood. This means that you have to split and then flatten them to improve their appearance. This also makes it easier for you to batter and fry the seafood. To do this, you need to shell the shrimp without removing the tail. After shelling them, run them under cold water in order to rinse them.

Most people use prawn recipes to make shrimp because they are the same type of seafood. When making them, you need to ensure you use adequate heat to ensure harmful organisms are destroyed. Avoid cooking them for too long because this will make them loose flavor and become tough. Monitor the seafood constantly when cooking it. The time you will spend cooking will depend on the size. When done, the seafood will turn orange.

If you want to get something moist from the prawn recipes, baking is the most suitable option. Place the seafood in foil and add some lemon slices, butter, spices and herbs. Fold the foil paper and seal its edges. To bake the seafood place it in an oven preheat to about 375 degrees. It will take about 5 minutes for it to be done.

Boiled shrimp can also be very tasty and you can either serve it cold or include it in another recipe. To boil the seafood, place it in water that has come to a boil. To enhance flavor, you can add some crab-boil and lemon wedges in the water. For small seafood, you should boil for about 2 minutes. Larger ones take about 5 minutes to cook.

Another option you can use is grilling or broiling the seafood. This can be done before or after you remove the shell. You can grill them on skewers or broil them in an oven. It is better to leave the shells on because this protects the delicate meat and enhances the flavor.
