Gardening is a hobby of many people, but due to different health issues, we stay away from it even if we want to do it badly. This tasks require a lot of physical activities such as digging, welding, plating, and cleaning, kneeling, standing, crouching, twisting, pulling, stooping, lifting, learning and physical energy. If your body does not have the capacity to take all of these physical stresses, then it can cause many health problems especially muscle pain, back pain, body pain, etc. But does this mean that you should give up your desire of this? Absolutely not! Here we are going to discuss some very effective steps that can help you to do gardening while staying healthy at the same time. Let's check out the steps:

Start Slow

You may be very excited about this, and try to do a lot of things on the very first day, but if you care about your health then you must start slow. Start with 30 minutes on the very first day of gardening and then increase your time slowly. If you try to do a lot of this activities on a single day, then it will be hard for your body to accept the stress. By taking it slowly you will allow your body to accept the change of activities properly, and eventually, it will reduce the chances of health injuries.

Exercise is a significant part of our life, no matter whether you are gardening or not, you must do physical exercise on an everyday basis to keep yourself fit and healthy. Before doing hard physical activities like this, it is vital to warm up our body muscles. You can either do some stretches before starting this tasks, or you can also do some exercises in the morning and evening time to keep your body active. With exercise your body becomes more capable of doing hard jobs, and it also keeps away the soreness that you feel after this.

Set Plans for Gardening

When you start doing this for the first time, it can be difficult for you to cope up with all the tasks. You may feel like doing all these jobs on one day, but it is a bad idea at all. If you want to stay healthy while doing this, you must set attainable and executable goals before starting. You may feel like doing all these jobs in one free day even if your body doesn't feel right about it, but you should not fall into such traps. Make a plan and execute them accordingly. Moreover, doing all the tasks in one day will not give you much success.

Use Proper Gardening Tools

If you don't want to give too much strain to your body, try to use proper gardening tools that are available in the market today. Use lifting machine, gardening apron, eco-friendly fertilizers, lawn mowers, hand trowel, hand gloves and other tools to make the task easier and stress-free. Keeping these elements will also make your work faster. Do some research on these tools available in the market and use those tools which are lightweight and have bigger handles, it will help you to lower the strain on your back.

Use Your Body Properly

Many of us don't have any idea about how to use our body while working, which leads us to many diseases in future. While gardening, it is most likely that our body will move, bend, twist, carry heavy weight and do a lot more. While doing all these things make sure to use your knees to bend but not your back. We are more likely to use our back strength to do our jobs, but according to therapists and health experts, it is always better to use our leg muscles and abdominal muscles for lifting and bending tasks rather than our back.

The above-given points are some of the tips that can help you to stay healthy while gardening. Try to maintain these tips to avoid any kind of physical injury or health issues while doing this.
